Legal Assistance

The Air Force Legal Assistance website is designed to help service members and dependents obtain detailed information on a variety of legal issues. Because it is a public space, clients may access the site's features from home without a CAC.

WILLS & MEDICAL DIRECTIVES
Clients must fill out a will worksheet on the Air Force Legal Assistance website and once they receive a ticket number, they can schedule an appointment by calling the Legal Office at DSN 782-4283 or commercial at 063-470-4283.

Legal assistance attorneys can prepare will and advance medical directives, including living wills and medical powers of attorney. These services are executed immediately following an appointment.

POWERS OF ATTORNEY & NOTARY
Powers of Attorney and notary services are provided on a walk-in basis. Please go to our website here: https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil/lass/lass.html to fill out your forms. Once you receive a ticket number, please come into our office with that number to get your documents printed and notarized. 

Foreign Court Issues

The International Law section of the Legal Office deals with issues between international partners as well as managing cases involving U.S. personnel that take place in the Korean criminal justice system. Whether it is a traffic ticket an individual has received off base or an agreement between international partners, be sure to contact the International Law section!

Area Defense Counsel

The Area Defense Counsel provides individual Air Force members independent legal representation. Airmen facing adverse administrative actions or who are suspected of committing an offense under the Uniform Code of Military Justice can receive confidential legal advice outside the chain of command.

Victim & Witness Assistance

The Victim and Witness Assistance Program (VWAP), is a program guided by statutory and regulatory requirements under the responsibility of the installation commander with responsibilities delegated to the Staff Judge Advocate. The VWAP Program provides guidance for the treatment of victims and witnesses of crimes that are being prosecuted under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. This program teams with the SARC office, Victim Advocates, and Special Victim's Counsel to ensure victims and witnesses receive all the information and assistance they deserve.

Special Victims' Counsel

The special victims' counsel (SVC) office is an independent office that represents victims of sexual assault.

SVCs can provide a variety of legal services to victims: provide confidential legal advice; advise on the investigation and military justice process; attend interviews, hearings, and courts-martial; assert and protect privacy interests and other legal rights; and general legal assistance for victims.

SVCs are available to those who have made both restricted or unrestricted reports. Kunsan Air Base's servicing SVC office is located at Osan Air Base, and can be reached by calling DSN 784-3290 or commercial at 063-505-3290.
