Uitemate skills taught at Misawa in remembrance of 3/11
Mr. Jun Abe, a professional diver and Uitemate instructor from Miyagi
Prefecture, gives participants instructions in the pool at Misawa Air Base,
Japan, March 12, 2017. Abe travels to different locations around the
Indo-Asia-Pacific to teach Uitemate as a water survival skill to help save
people's lives in the case of natural disasters. The strength of the
U.S.-Japan alliance enabled humanitarian assistance after the strongest
earthquake ever recorded struck the country. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech.
