A-10s complete second USPACOM Air Contingent mission
U.S. Air Force pilots step to the A-10C Thunderbolt II before taking off from Clark Air Base, Philippines, on a maritime domain awareness mission in the vicinity of Scarborough Shoal April 21, 2016. The pilots are deployed along with five A-10Cs, three HH-60G Pave Hawks and 200 Airmen as part of U.S. Pacific Command’s first Air Contingent in order to promote interoperability with Philippine counterparts and provide transparent maritime situational awareness, ensuring safety of military and civilian operations in international waters and airspace.
