Down To the Grind
KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea--Staff Sgt. Dollie Blake, a dental laboratory technician for the 8th Medical Operations Squadron, grinds down the cast of a patient's teeth. The cast is a replica of the patient's teeth and is used to make custom-fitted dental appliances such as bleaching trays, retainers, etc. March 7 to 13 is Dental Assistants Recognition Week. This is a weeklong acknowledgement of the great work that the dental assistants bring to the Wolf Pack dental health care throughout the year. Dental assistants are crucial members of the Wolf Pack team. They work alongside the dentists taking X-rays, managing the office and educating patients on proper oral hygiene.
