Getting to the root of the matter

KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea--Staff Sgt. DeCarlos Black, an advance oral hygiene therapist for the 8th Medical Operations Squadron, selects the dental tool he needs for cleaning his patient's teeth, Senior Airman Clifford Roberts, 8th Maintenance Squadron, March 8. Staff Sgt. Black performed cleaning and adviced Airman Roberts on necessary steps in the prevention of tooth decay and proper oral hygiene during his visit. March 7 to 13 is Dental Assistants Recognition Week. This is a weeklong acknowledgement of the great work that dental assistants do throughout the year. Dental assistants are crucial members of the Wolf Pack team. They work alongside the dentists taking X-rays, managing the office and educating patients on the importance of proper oral hygiene.
