Best thing you've done here: Assisted my Airman in getting promoted to staff sergeant.

What she did: Powell's Airman, Senior Airman Janelle Smith, was not promoted to staff sergeant due to an administrative error. Taking initiative, Powell brought her Airman's qualifying test scores to the first sergeant's attention and working with leadership, Powell had the scores forwarded to the Air Force Personnel Center.

On Sept. 25, 2013, leadership was notified of Smith's promotion status: Smith was retroactively promoted during the 2012 E-5 cycle. Powell demonstrated what it truly means to take care of her Airman. She went above and beyond to rectify a complicated administrative error to get her Airman promoted.
