Letter from his commander:
I would like to recommend Staff Sgt. Markeith Williams from the 8th Security Forces Squadron for the Pride of the Pack Award. Sergeant Williams arrived to Kunsan in November 2006. His professionalism, military image, customs and courtesies and productivity level has exceeded any expectation of a young non-commissioned officer.

In December 2006, he was selected for the position of NCOIC, resource protection. He has conducted inspections and staff assistance visits for the 44 controlled areas at Kunsan AB. His duty performance has brought nothing but rewards to the unit and the wing. Sergeant Williams plays a vital role in the Wolf Pack's "Defend the Base" mission. He is the wing's focal point for the protection of PL-4 resources on the installation, totaling more than $500M in base assets.

Sergeant Williams' exceptional duty performance during the 2007 Operational Readiness Inspection helped solidify the unit's unprecedented zero findings in base defense operations and ultimately the wing's overall "Excellent" rating. His efforts were praised by the 8th SFS commander and the Pacific Air Forces inspector general inspectors for his extensive job knowledge on installation security matters.

Sergeant Williams was also recognized when he was coined by the United States Forces Korea Command Sergeant Major during a briefing. He continually surpasses all expectations. Recently, an unforeseen circumstance resulted in him being the only one left in the installation security section. He impressively juggled the duties of three individual sections as well as covering for the NCOIC, a position held by a master sergeant, without one bit of hesitation or complaint. He worked arduous hours doing whatever it took to ensure mission success. What he did not know he taught himself and what he could not teach himself, he found the right source. No matter what, the mission was always accomplished.

Sergeant Williams' accomplishments have been too many to measure. However, some of his recent achievements have had lasting and noteworthy impressions on the wing. He single-handily coordinated 16 free-zones for change of command ceremonies for all wing and squadron leaders, was the security forces point of contact for planning and arrival of the 555th Fighter Squadron crew and aircraft, developed solutions with the bird bash working committee in eliminating wildlife on the airfield, managed and directed a new controlled area for the Charlie Battery Arms room and conducted two security education and motivation exercises.

In the midst of all this, Sergeant Williams still found time to be involved with the Wolf Pack community. He regularly attends the wing's 5/6 Council meetings and is one of the primary DJ's at the Club. He was the security forces point of contact for the wing's 4th of July celebration, leading off the parade in the security forces vehicle. Sergeant Williams' high standards of time management and outstanding customer oriented work ethic only enhanced his abilities to successfully accomplish so many tasks in a minimal amount of time. I'm genuinely proud of Markeith's efforts and he deserves to be the next Pride of the Pack recipient for all his hard work and dedication to the unit and the wing.
