Letter from his commander:
I would like to recommend Senior Airman Jake Capps, for the Pride of the Pack Award. Airman Capps has been stationed at Kunsan for 11 months. During this time, he repeatedly demonstrated service before self in his quest to assist every squadron member who requests his attention. Regardless of time and location, he makes a fellow squadron member's issues his priority. In addition, Airman Capps volunteers for opportunities to enhance the morale and welfare of this unit. He has consistently shown a commitment to excellence with every customer he supports. He earned the trust and respect of all personnel within the unit.

Airman Capps is directly responsible for providing service to ten flights and more than 600 military personnel. In addition, he is the primary liaison between the base Military Personnel Flight and squadron members on all personnel matters. He provides management oversight to unit-level Military Personnel Data System (MILPDS) and Personnel Concept-III (PC-3) updates. Furthermore he manages unit INTRO program, duty status reporting, control rosters, drug testing, reports on individual personnel (RIP) and Unfavorable Information Files (UIF). He manages coordination with three different base agencies to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all tasks

Most important Airman Capps has executed his mission with a level of professionalism, excellence and personal integrity making him an absolute role model for his peers across all AFSCs. During his time here, he has in-processed/out-processed more than 550 unit personnel. He has processed more than 700 DEROS option and assignment rips. Furthermore, Airman Capps is directly responsible for maintaining an 80 percent unit availability rate by processing leave requests and TDY orders. He  volunteers to work additional hours and recently, due to mid-tours, he has covered the entire unit single-handedly.

In his off-duty time, he has become a model of Air Force fitness, running five miles a day and encouraging other members of his unit to do the same. Finally, his actions as a Unit Control Center controller were instrumental in the unit's success during the April 2007 Pacific Air Forces' Operational Readiness Inspection. His flawless support ensured the Wolf Pack was prepared to "Take the Fight North". Bottom-line, Airman Capps exhibits drive and commitment and as such I believe he is truly deserving of recognition as "Pride of the Pack".
