I would like to recommend Senior Airman Martina Freeman from 8th Logistics Readiness Squadron for the Pride of the Pack Award. Airman Freeman has made a positive impact throughout the wing and community from the moment of her arrival to Kunsan Air Base in April 2007. She serves as the supervisor of the fuels laboratory, a position normally held for seasoned NCOs from within the Fuels Management Flight. As a young senior airman, she manages the quality control of all petroleum and cryogenics products received, stored and issued for the Wolf Pack. She controls and maintains the base fuels laboratory and all its associated sampling equipment. Furthermore, she is responsible for over 1,040 fuel and cryogenic samples processed and recorded monthly from 11 cryotainers, 24 refueling units, 2 Type IV hydrant systems and 12 bulk storage tanks. Her equipment responsibility exceeds $64 million and directly impacts the ability of the Wolf Pack to perform its mission.

Airman Freeman's focus since her boots hit the ground at Kunsan has been to "make a difference" in LRS and the Wolf Pack. She has become a valued member with an unending drive to better herself, work center and peers with a focus on providing assistance to the base and local community. Airman Freeman continually sacrifices non-duty days by volunteering weekends, preparing fuel delivery assets to ensure aviation fuel procedures are flawless and uninterrupted. She sampled more than 38 pieces of equipment and performed more than 262 quality samples, maintaining more than $33 million worth of fuel. In addition, she was hand-selected by the Fuels Management Team to brief both the Wolf and Falcon during their recent immersion into the 8th Fighter Wing. Her heart felt pride and professionalism were apparent in her briefings. Her "can do" attitude is crucial to the squadron's ability to meet the Wolf Pack's mission head-on. She is the epitome of professionalism and the standard by which her peers are measured.

Airman Freeman consistently volunteers on base and in the community. She assisted the "A-Cubed" program numerous evenings and spent time boosting the moral and self image of 32 orphans from around the Korean community. In addition, she helped the Base Chapel with Friday night dinners at the Sonlight Inn, trying to bring a piece of "home" to Kunsan. Finally, Airman Freeman's involvement with the Unit Advisory Council was instrumental in guaranteeing a successful evening for over 200 members of the LRS during the going away combat dining-in for the squadron commander.

Ariman Freeman is truly an outstanding Airman and continually strives to exemplify the Air Force Core Values in a way that makes the Wolf Pack a better place for everyone. She has completed her CCAF Degree in Logistics and recently enrolled in Touro University's Master Program. She is always willing to take that extra step and pulls those that fall behind. She has been at Kunsan for only two months and has already left her mark on the Wolf Pack.
