Letter from his commander:
I would like to recommend Senior Airman Joshua Cartwright of the Cable Maintenance Shop from the 8th Communications Squadron for the Pride of the Pack Award.
Airman Cartwright has made a positive impact throughout the wing and community from the moment he arrived at Kunsan Air Base.

He has consistently performed with unquestionable professionalism and integrity. Airman Cartwright replaced a priority communications cable supporting remote connectivity between the Instrument Landing System Glideslope and the Radar Approach Control facility. Doing more with less, he provided a technical solution for a seemingly impossible job, swiftly coordinating and delivering a new path for the vital cable run. The installation was finished in one day, an unprecedented achievement that saved the Wolf Pack $70,000 in labor and parts.

He has consistently provides communication support not only to the Wolf Pack, but also to follow-on forces, often with very short notice. He helped install 30,000 feet of Category five Local Area Network cabling in support of the PACAF ORI Inspector General Team, the Holloman AFB, N.M. deployment and the 7 AF COIN project. All work was accomplished well within anticipated completion dates. The response and dependability of Airman Cartwright is nothing short of remarkable.

The support given to bed down the Aviano AB deployment was yet another amazing feat. Leading a group of unit members, he was able to completely engineer a plan, participate in digging a 300 foot trench, assemble a conduit system and assist in the installation of 600 feet of copper and fiber optic cabling. The extraordinary work of Airman Cartwright saved the 8th Fighter Wing more than $80,000 in labor, equipment and parts.

He lives the Core Value of "Service before Self." In addition to his dedication to the Wolf Pack, he volunteers at local orphanages, teaches English classes at local schools and assists the First Sergeant with refurbishing dorm rooms. Additionally, he makes time despite a high ops tempo to represent his unit by participating on the intramural volleyball and softball teams.

The contributions of Airman Cartwright not only bring pride to the 8th CS, they make him a leading candidate for the Pride of the Pack Award.
