Letter from his commander:
I highly recommend Staff Sgt. Jeffrey McCoy from the 35th Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU) for the Pride of the Pack Award. Sergeant McCoy has made a positive impact throughout the wing and community from the moment of his arrival to Kunsan Air Base in November 2006. He's the swing shift Specialist Expediter responsible for maintenance on 20 block 40 F-16CG aircraft valued at more than $500 million.

Sergeant McCoy's outstanding leadership was crucial in all phases of a Syrene Byte for Exercise BEVERLY BULLDOG 07-07. First, he ensured all newly assigned personnel were thoroughly trained on local Syrene Byte procedures. Also, due to the section's recent high turnover, he single handedly coordinated with the 8th Communications Squadron on the training and certification of secured networks for seven members ultimately making it possible for these members to download systems software through secure networks. These actions, coupled with his rallying of the sections avionics technicians, culminated in the highly successful reprogramming of nine electronic countermeasures pods in less than one hour, a feat so phenomenal EET members decided to end the Syrene Byte exercise ahead of schedule.

Sergeant McCoy is without a doubt the go-to Specialist Expediter. His superb maintenance management skills were clearly evident when he supervised 48 maintenance "redballs" during Exercise Foal Eagle 07-03. His infectious enthusiasm and motivation led his team in the successful execution of 89 percent of tasked sorties furthering vital pilot qualifications.

Sergeant McCoy is a superb NCO and Expediter. He continually strives to make himself a positive role model for his subordinates and peers alike. He has selflessly given more than 80 hours of his off-duty time working at the 8 AMXS hooch. Furthermore, even given his demanding job, Sergeant McCoy still finds the time to train and mentor his troops. This ability has earned his subordinates' unwavering respect and dedication, culminating in a more mission-postured section. He exemplifies what a non commissioned officer can do and will do to ensure the mission is accomplished. Sergeant McCoy exceeds the standards of this honorable recognition and should be selected as the Pride of the Pack.
