Staff Sgt. Andrea Penn from the 8th Maintenance Operations Squadron was selected as the 8th Fighter Wing's Pride of the Pack for the week of Jan. 25. Each week, the 8th Fighter Wing commander recognizes one member of the Wolf Pack by awarding them with a Pride of the Pack certificate for their stellar commitment to excellence and superior mission accomplishment. Here is a letter from Sergeant Penn's commander explaining her achievements.

Letter from her Commander
It is my pleasure to recommend Staff Sgt. Andrea Penn from the 8th Maintenance Operations Squadron for the Pride of the Pack Award. Sergeant Penn has made numerous significant contributions to the wing and community from the moment she arrived on Kunsan Air Base in August 2007. Sergeant Penn's primary duty in the 8th Maintenance Operations Squadron is NCO in charge of Exercise and Contingency Programs. Sergeant Penn is the 8th Maintenance Group's lone logistics planner making her the crucial link between Maintenance Group and Logistic Readiness Squadron. This was demonstrated when she lead 8 maintainers to accept 162 short tons of follow on forces cargo during the November 2007 Peninsula Operational Readiness Exercise. Furthermore, her team received and bedded down over 600 maintenance personnel as part of the exercise. Her unyielding devotion to duty was evidenced by the Outstanding Unit Deployment and Reception Manager rating.

Sergeant Penn is Air Force Core Values personified and stands ready to accept follow on forces. Her superior knowledge was key to the successful rewrite of the 8th Fighter Wing Installation Deployment and Reception Plan. She was recognized for her efforts by ALC/CC during his visit on December 10th and by the Wolf Chief on December 20th.

In addition to her regular duties, Sergeant Penn's enthusiastic can-do attitude plays a vital role to children in the Republic of Korea community where she is active in supporting Mayong Elementary School. Sergeant Penn taught 66 hours of English to the 5th and 6th grade classes there, strengthening US/ROK youth relations.

Sergeant  Andrea Penn exemplifies the best of the Wolf Pack and is deserving of this recognition. She consistently exhibits superior professionalism and never fails to deliver less than spectacular results.
