Pride of the Pack: Senior Airman Randall Talarchyk

Senior Airman Randall Talarchyk from the 8th Maintenance Squadron was selected as the 8th Fighter Wing's Pride of the Pack for the week of Feb. 18. Each week, the 8th Fighter Wing commander recognizes one member of the Wolf Pack by awarding them with a Pride of the Pack certificate for their stellar commitment to excellence and superior mission accomplishment. Here is a letter from Airman Talarchyk's commander explaining his achievements.

Letter from the commander: 

It is my pleasure to recommend Senior Airman Randall Talarchyk from the 8th Maintenance Operations Squadron for the Pride of the Pack Award. Airman Talarchyk has made numerous significant contributions to the wing and local community from the moment he arrived on Kunsan Air Base in May 2007. Airman Talarchyk's primary duty in the 8th Maintenance Operations Squadron is Comprehensive Engine Trending and Diagnostic System (CETADS) Manager. Airman Talarchyk is the 8th MXG's lead CETADS manager making him vital in the management of the health of our engine fleet. This was demonstrated when he accomplished the complete transfer of engine trending data during the 80th AMU Iron Swap to Eielson AFB. Furthermore, his receipt and initialization of engine trending data of 24 installed engines insured that our aircraft transferred from Eielson AFB were prepared to fight tonight. His unyielding devotion to duty was evidenced by the outstanding success of our 80th AMU Block 30 to Block 40 aircraft transfer. 

Airman Talarchyk is Air Force Core Values personified and stands ready to take the fight north. His superior knowledge was key to expanding initialization deck capabilities; spearheading the use of Global Integrated Maintenance Management System locally, expediting our information maintenance data system gain time 45%. His knowledge of computer based systems takes him onto the flight line consistently assisting sister agencies with CSA support, and making his name the first to be mentioned when computer expertise is needed.

In addition to his regular duties, Airman Talarchyk's enthusiastic can-do attitude plays a vital role to Kunsan Air Base's community. He is active in supporting ACE in the Hole and is an ardent Son light Inn volunteer. Most recently his efforts and support of the Services Biggest Loser contest helped 8 MOS team attain 1st place in the competition, all the while exemplifying team unison and comradery. 

Airman Randall Talarchyk was recently recognized as our squadron's Airman of the Quarter, he represents the best of the Wolf Pack and is deserving of this recognition. He consistently exhibits superior professionalism and never fails to deliver less than spectacular results. In following the Wolf Pack Creed he has truly left his mark.
