The newest members of the Wolf Pack were greeted by wing leadership April 7, after the Patriot Express landed here for the first time in more than two years.

Col. Robert Givens, 8th Fighter Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. James Sanders, 8 FW command chief, along with all of the Wolf Pack group commanders and other wing leadership were on hand as the first person departed the jet.

The Patriot Express, a commercial airline, contracted by the Department of Defense to provide transportation for military members, dependents and civil service employees, allow Kunsan members to fly directly into Kunsan, instead of landing at Incheon International Airport and bussing the three hours to Kunsan.

The new weekly flights will depart from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, in Washington and go to Yokota Air Base, Japan; Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea and arrive at Kunsan. The route then back tracks from Kunsan to Osan to Yokota and ends at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport again.

This service is targeted mainly toward servicemembers and families traveling on PCS moves, but members traveling on temporary duty as well as space-available travelers are open to sign up for a seat.

For a member to book official travel they must contact the 8th Logistics Readiness Squadron traffic management office. Space-A travel members should call the Air Mobility Command passenger terminal here at 782-4666 to check availability.

More information regarding Space-A travel will be posted on the Kunsan webpage as it becomes available.
