KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea --
The Air Force's Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installations and Mission Support visited the Wolf Pack here Feb. 11 to reinvigorate unit morale and reassure Kunsan's Airmen of their importance to the overall success of the mission here in the region.
"Kunsan maintains a 24/7 mission which is highly visible and key to the Air Force's success in the region," said Lt. Gen. Loren Reno. "Maintaining a readiness to respond at a moment's notice is vital."
The general quoted the base's mission statement when he said, "Defend the base, accept follow-on forces and take the fight North -- that is why you are here and why I have come."
This mission statement is one known by all who have and are serving at Kunsan. It is a way of establishing a sense of unity among a diverse group of U.S. and Republic of Korea service members.
Air Force senior leaders take time to visit and express their immense gratitude for the hard work and dedication of all those serving here to strengthen this sense of unity.
"I know of a tradition of excellence and heritage shared by those serving here at Kunsan," General Reno said. "What I saw today was as good or better than I've ever seen in my more than 35 years of service."
Praising the Wolf, Col. John Dolan, 8th Fighter Wing commander, and the stellar Airmen who serve him, the general added, "Kunsan's Wolf Pack exemplifies a culture of compliance and the Air Force has confidence in what you're doing as you do it very well."
