The chance for Wolf Pack members to give back to their own will soon end as the Air Force Assistance Fund campaign here draws to a close March 18.

Though the 8th Fighter Wing is very close to reaching its monetary goal this year, the ultimate goal is to make 100-percent contact of Wolf Pack Warriors.

Ensuring everyone is contacted means everyone has the opportunity to find out about the programs the AFAF supports and to donate if they choose to, said Master Sgt. Francisco Hernandez, 8th Civil Engineer Squadron and an AFAF installation project officer. So far, contact is at 89 percent.

"Our group and unit representatives have the names of those they are responsible for contacting and have been in the process of making face-to-face contact with those Airmen," Sergeant Hernandez said. "However, due to the high operations tempo here, scheduling conflicts, holidays and the February exercise, they haven't been able to reach everyone. These next two weeks will also be difficult, as next week we will be preparing for the exercise the following week."

Sergeant Hernandez said he and Capt. Adam Hauer, 8th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and the other installation project officer, are asking all Wolf Pack Warriors to take part in ensuring the wing reaches its 100-percent contact goal.

"If you haven't been contacted by your unit representative, contact them directly," Sergeant Hernandez said. "Seek out your representative on your own and help the base reach its goal. This isn't something that should take long, it just takes everyone's commitment and a little time."

During the AFAF campaign, Airmen can give to any of the four affiliates the campaign supports financially, which support active-duty and retired Airmen and their families. These agencies are the Air Force Aid Society, Air Force Village, Air Force Enlisted Village and the Gen. and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation.

For more information, Airmen can contact their unit representative. Those who don't know who their unit representative is can contact their group representative for assistance. Group representatives are Staff Sgt. Cody Hobart, 8th FW staff agencies; Capt. Christiane Makela, 8th Mission Support Group; Second Lt. Cassie Lewis, 8th Medical Group; Master Sgt. Dennis Fuselier, 8th Maintenance Group; and Capt. Jake Pippenger, 8th Operations Group.
