8TH OPERATIONS GROUP

The 8th Operations Group is the backbone of the 8th Fighter Wing, providing the aircrews who fly the wing's F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. The 8th OG is comprised of the 35th Fighter Squadron, 80th Fighter Squadron and the 8th Operations Support Squadron.

Put to the test: 8 FW pilot completes upgrade certification

Capt. Tyler Hansen, 35th Fighter Squadron F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot, descends from an F-16 ahead of a large force exercise at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Nov. 15, 2023. The exercise served as Hansen’s evaluation for upgrade to mission commander, making him responsible for integrating the capabilities of U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortresses, F-16 Fighting Falcons, U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning IIs and Republic of Korea Air Force KF-15s/KF-35s into a safe and effective mission scenario.
