8TH MEDICAL GROUP

The 8th Medical Group supports the 8th Fighter Wing and is compromised of the MDG staff, 8th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron (8 OMRS) and 8th Healthcare Operations Squadron (8 HCOS).  This support is executed by delivering preventive health services and outpatient medical care to over 2,800 base personnel.

Services include: Aerospace Medicine, Primary Care, Aerospace Operational Physiology, Ambulance Services, Primary Care Behavioral Health, Bioenvironmental Engineering, Clinical Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging/Radiology, Family Advocacy, General Dentistry, Health Promotions, Immunizations, Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment (ADAPT), Optometry (via visiting Osan provider 51 MDG), Pharmacy, Personnel Reliability Program, Public Health and Physical Therapy.

The 8 MDG maintains a specialty care network partnering with civilian and military health care facilities: Wonkwang University Hospital (Iksan), Gunsan Medical Center, Ajou University Medical Center (Seoul), Samsung Medical Center (Seoul), 51st Medical Group (Osan Air Base) and the Brian D. Allgood Army Community Hospital, U.S. Army Garrison Camp Humphreys.

The 8 MDG understands that care provided at civilian host nation facilities may be complicated by language barriers, cultural differences and variations in standard of care. Therefore, we provide our patients with 24/7 TRICARE Overseas beneficiary support when translation services are not available or if there is a quality of care concern.

The 8th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron is organized into seven flights: Family Health Clinic with Ambulance Services, Aerospace Medicine, Public Health, Bioenvironmental Engineering, Mental Health, Physical Therapy/Health Promotions and Dental.

The 8th Healthcare Operations Squadron is organized into five flights: Medical Readiness (includes Medical Information Systems), Medical Logistics, Diagnostics and Therapeutics (includes Pharmacy, Clinical Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging), TRICARE Operations and Patient Administration (TOPA) and Resource Management Flight (includes Resource Management and Commander’s Support Staff).
