Colonel Daryl L. McCoy is the Commander, 8th Maintenance Group, Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea. He is responsible for the daily flying and maintenance operations, intermediate level maintenance, component repair, and maintenance training for the 8th Fighter Wing. He controls and allocates resources, directs maintenance activities and manages an annual budget of 2.4 million dollars, and develops and implements plans to meet the wing’s operational taskings.
Colonel McCoy earned his commission in 2005 following graduation from the United States Air Force Academy. His career in aircraft maintenance includes a variety of line assignments supporting the generation and sustainment of the F-16, C-130, C-17, E-3, KC-135, F- 15C/D/E, A-10C, F-22A and F-35A weapon systems. Colonel McCoy has served in multiple staff positions, including two assignments at Headquarters Air Force, as well as Pacific Air Forces. Prior to his current position, Colonel McCoy served as the lead A4 Integrator on the Air Force Chief of Staff’s, Unit of Action Implementation Task Force, working to shape the Air Force’s Force presentation model.
