KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- A 23-year-old Airman assigned to the 8th Security Forces Squadron was found deceased on base, July 26, 2024.
The deceased Airman has been identified as Airman Basic Kye Vang.
“The Kunsan family is deeply saddened by this loss, and we will mourn the life of Kye,” said Col. Peter Kasarskis, 8th Fighter Wing commander. “From all the members of the Wolf Pack, our thoughts are with Kye’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
The Airman’s death is under investigation, however, foul play is not suspected.

군산 기지 미 공군 장병 사망
군산 기지, 대한 민국 – 제 8 헌병대대 소속 23살 공군 장병이 부대내에서 2024년 7월 26일 사망한 채로 발견되었습니다.
사망한 장병은 공군 신병 카이 뱅(Airman Basic Kye Vang)으로 신원이 파악되었습니다.
“군산 기지 전 가족들은 이번 키 장병의 죽음에 애도를 표하며 깊은 슬픔을 느낍니다,” 제 8 전투 비행단장 피터 카사스키스 대령이 전했습니다. “울프팩의 모든 장병들과 직원들은 카이 장병의 가족들께 깊은 애도를 표하며, 이 어려운 시기를 할께 할 것입니다.”
현재 장병의 사망은 조사중에 있으나, 타살의 정황은 없는것으로 알려졌습니다.
