United States Soldiers and Airmen strengthened their working relationship in Korea with a meeting between Wolf Pack leadership and the members of the Air Defense Artillery Patriot Battery at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, July 2, 2013.

Colonel S. Clinton Hinote, 8th Fighter Wing commander and Chief Master Sgt. Rhonda Miller,8th FW command chief, commonly known as the "Wolf" and "Wolf Chief," toured the Alpha Battery, 2nd Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery Regiment Patriot Missile Site to learn more about how they help the Wolf Pack to 'defend the base.'

The Battery's mission as the primary Air Defense Asset of the area is the vigilant protection of Kunsan and the 8th Fighter Wing from airborne threats, to include tactical ballistic missiles. With its sister batteries all located three hours east of Kunsan at Camp Carroll, ROK, Alpha Battery is far from the Army support system and must maintain a good working relationship with its Air Force sponsors.

Upon arriving at the Patriot Site, Wolf and Wolf Chief were welcomed by Capt. Anthony Dubose, A/2-1 commander, and 1st Sgt. Tyrone Flowers, A/2-1 first sergeant.

Following a short briefing on the capabilities of the Patriot, they were taken on a walk-through of each piece of equipment. Wolf and Wolf Chief were impressed, as each soldier they encountered demonstrated expert knowledge of their given equipment system.

The tour then moved downrange, where Alpha's launcher crews conducted a demonstration of an emplacement and a missile reload of the launcher system.

To conclude the tour, Wolf spoke to the Soldiers of Alpha Battery and thanked them for their hard work and continued protection of Kunsan, emphasizing his belief that without their efforts, the 8th Fighter Wing would be unable to complete its mission.

Hinote also expressed his desire to continue the bond between Soldiers and Airmen here at Kunsan, and hopes members of Alpha Battery truly feel like a part of the Wolf Pack family. Alpha Battery thanks the 8th FW for its support and hospitality, and looks forward to the continued relationship between forces.
