KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea – U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Allison Hinkle, a native of Cape Coral, Florida, and a 8th Communications Squadron radio technician, was awarded the 8th Fighter Wing’s Pride of the Pack for the week of March 30 – April 3 for the accelerated impact she has made at Kunsan as her first duty assignment from technical school.

As a radio technician, Hinkle quickly established herself as an integral member of the 8th CS, obtaining her skill level upgrade six months ahead of her peers. She utilized her knowledge gained to develop a new, modernized standard operating procedure for radio use and instructed three squadron training courses, educating 104 personnel on proper radio etiquette during readiness exercises.

Hinkle devoted 65 hours to Kunsan’s Red Cross program, processing over 300 lbs. of donations for 8th Fighter Wing personnel, gift packages for recruitment events, and promoted the family reading program. Later, she was selected by her peers as the First Term Enlisted Center’s “Distinguished Leader” during the week-long introductory course.

Finally, she strived to advance the 8th FW’s line of effort, “Defend the Base” by managing three peers to program 10 tactical radios and configure four stationary ground-to-air base stations. Her efforts forged a new command-and-control solution for 110 soldiers and validated a joint missile defense concept of operations across two readiness exercises.

Thank you, Airman 1st Class Hinkle, for your outstanding leadership and dedication to the Wolf Pack mission. Congratulations on being this week’s Pride of the Pack!
