Wolf Pack members received $82,907 in Productivity Enhancing Capital Investment funds for three approved Fast Payback Capital Investment Program projects: two projects from the 8th Force Support Squadron and one project from the 8th Logistics Readiness Squadron.

The Air Force PECI Program helps conserve critical Air Force resources, enhance unit capability, and improve combat readiness. The Air Force and Department of Defense seek out opportunities for enhancing quality and productivity, financing them through the self-sustaining PECI Programs. Air Force organizations at all levels are encouraged to seek out and identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement which qualify to compete for financing under a PECI Program.

PECI programs include the Productivity Investment Fund (more than $200K for four a year investment) and the FASCAP (up to $200K for a two year investment).

Air Force units can purchase equipment or even build facilities using these dollars, and pay it back with Operations and Maintenance savings or manpower savings for the investment cost in two or four years depending on FASCAP or PIF projects. The AF "PECI budget" is separate from the wing budget.

The 8 FSS received $50,134 for two approved FASCAP projects -- one project for the Military Personnel Flight office equipment upgrades. This project purchased 84 LCD 17" computer monitors, two color laser jet printers, and a power shredder totaling $14,134.

The second project funded the Military Personnel Section's Customer Service waiting area upgrade. The $36,000 remodeling job will turn a warehouse style room with exposed vents, concrete block walls and steel warehouse-style rolling door into a professional waiting area. This project will include drywall installation over the concrete walls, installation of a drop ceiling, removal of the steel rolling door (replaced with concrete wall with sheet rock), installing a new window and replacing carpet. The 8th Force Support Squadron used manpower savings to amortize the two projects.

The 8 LRS also received approval for a FASCAP project and received $32,773 to purchase various cargo processing equipment, office furniture, and industrial equipment to facilitate the 8 LRS's cargo mission.

If a unit can show savings with O&M amortization or manpower efficiencies, the unit can submit a request for a PECI project to receive productivity funds (PECI dollars).
