Stacks of pancakes topped with blueberries welcomed Wolf Pack members to the Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas breakfast kick-off event here Oct. 13.

The campaign runs through Dec. 3. During the season, Wolf Pack members can donate to more than 2,300 charitable organizations to support people in need throughout military communities, across the nation and around the world.

"We make sacrifices everyday in the Air Force, but we have to remember that no matter how bad we think it is for us, there are always those out there who are less fortunate," said Col. Hugh J. Hanlon, 8th Fighter Wing vice commander. "It doesn't mean you have to donate half of your paycheck, but every little bit counts."

Last year, the five combatant commands raised more than $15.6 million to assist with life-saving and life-enriching services benefiting millions of people.

"The Wolf Pack's goal this year is to raise $113,000," said Capt. Christine Knieff, CFC project officer. "It's important because it gives people an opportunity to give back to their community - for people to take care of each other."

Contributors who are interested in supporting their local overseas military communities can make a contribution to the Family Support and Youth Programs here at Kunsan.

"The FSYP is a new block this year," said Colonel Hanlon. "So if you're undecided and unsure of what organization to donate to, the FSYP funds are returned to the installation (Kunsan) to support quality of life programs for overseas service members."

The CFC is the only authorized solicitation of Federal employees in their workplaces on behalf of approved charitable organizations.
