Medical maintenance support installs, inspects and repairs

KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea --  The 8th Medical Support Squadron bio-medical equipment repair technicians installs, inspects, repairs and modifies biomedical equipment and support systems in medical group operations and 54th War Reserve Material projects totaling $19.8 million.

Biomedical technicians perform pre-purchase evaluations of medical devices and advise on operational theory, underlying physiological principles and safe clinical applications of biomedical equipment. They implement organizational maintenance support for all medical devices used within the medical treatment facility, medical research laboratories, air transportable hospitals and clinics and contingency hospitals.

These warrior Airmen also provide technical guidance and intermediate maintenance support on medical equipment systems when assigned to a regional Medical Equipment Repair Center.
