Articles 15 should prevent misconduct at Wolf Pack

KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea --  Non-judicial punishment under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline. It also promotes positive behavioral changes among service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. An Article 15 may be imposed for a variety of offenses at commander's discretion.

A senior airman from the 8th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received an Article 15 for one specification of provoking speech or gesture and one specification of drunk and disorderly. For these actions, the senior airman received a suspended reduction to the rank of airman first class, forfeiture of $919 pay per month for two months, 60 days restriction to Kunsan Air Base, and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 8th AMXS received an Article 15 for one specification of dereliction of duty: underage drinking, one specification of assault consummated by a battery, and one specification of drunk and disorderly. For these actions, the airman first class received a reduction to the rank of airman, suspended forfeiture of $200 pay per month for two months, 15 days extra duty, 45 days of restriction to Kunsan Air Base, and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 8th Logistics Readiness Squadron received an Article 15 for two specifications of dereliction of duty: sleeping on duty and underage drinking, one specification of failure to go and one specification of AWOL for three days or less. For these actions, the airman first class received a reduction to the rank of airman basic, 30 days extra duty, 30 days of restriction to Kunsan Air Base, and a reprimand.

A captain from the 494th Fighter Squadron received an Article 15 for one specification of failure to obey a lawful order, one specification of conduct unbecoming an officer, and one specification of drunk and disorderly. For these actions, the captain received forfeiture of $1,500 pay per month for two months, one month suspended, and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 8th Maintenance Squadron received an Article 15 for one specification of disorderly conduct. For this action, the staff sergeant received a reduction to the rank of senior airman, suspended forfeiture of $300 pay per month for two months, and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 8th MXS received an Article 15 for one specification of dereliction of duty: neglect. For this action, the staff sergeant received a suspended reduction to the rank of senior airman, forfeiture of $300 pay per month for two months, and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 8th AMXS received an Article 15 for one specification of drunk and disorderly. For this action, the staff sergeant received a suspended reduction to the grade of senior airman and a reprimand.

A senior airman from the 8th MXS received an Article 15 for one specification of wrongful use of marijuana. For this action, the senior airman received a reduction to the grade of airman basic, 60 days of restriction to Kunsan Air Base, and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 8th AMXS received an Article 15 for one specification of drunk and disorderly. For this action, the staff sergeant received a suspended reduction to the grade of senior airman and a reprimand.
