KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- The Wolf Pack’s 2024-2025 change of command season concluded following the transition of new wing, group, and squadron commanders at Kunsan Air Base, May 30 - June 21, 2024.
During this period, Airmen of the 8th Fighter Wing bid farewell to their former commanders and welcomed a new class of leaders set to carry out the Kunsan’s mission: Defend the Base, Accept Follow-On Forces and Take the Fight North!
8th Fighter Wing - Col. Peter E. Kasarskis took command of the 8th FW from the outgoing commander, Col. Matthew C. Gaetke.
8th Operations Group - Col. Derrick Franck took command of the 8th OG from the outgoing commander, Col. Michael McCarthy.
35th Fighter Squadron - Lt. Col. Sean Murphy took command of the 35th FS from the outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Eric Broyles.
80th Fighter Squadron - Lt. Col. Dana Merril took command of the 80th FS from the outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Brandon July.
8th Operations Support Squadron - Lt. Col. Mark Jaszczak took command of the 8th OSS from the outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Jonathan Kay.
8th Maintenance Group - Col. Casey Crabill took command of the 8th MXG from the outgoing commander, Col. Bradley Altman.
8th Maintenance Squadron - Maj. Michael Parrish took command of the 8th MXS from the outgoing commander Lt. Col. May Euavijitearoon.
35th Fighter Generation Squadron - Maj. Gregory Marthaler took command of the 35th FGS from the outgoing commander, Maj. Lee Bussey.
80th Fighter Generation Squadron - Maj. Alex Carmona took command of the 80th FGS from the outgoing commander Maj. Keith Deering.
8th Medical Group - Col. Valerie Obrien took command of the 8th MDG from the outgoing commander, Col. Elizabeth Anderson-Doze.
8th Healthcare Operations - Lt. Col. Brian Johnson took command of the 8th HCOS from the outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Gabriel Dinorfio.
8th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron - Lt. Col. Alfred Doby took command of the 8th OMRS from the outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Jolyn Tatum.
8th Mission Support Group - Col. Joshua Hawkins took command of the 8th MSG from the outgoing commander, Col. Christopher Lacek.
8th Civil Engineer Squadron - Lt. Col. Phil Compton took command of the 8th CES outgoing commander, Lt. Col. John Kim.
8th Communications Squadron - Maj. Tuan Vu took command of the 8th CS from the outgoing commander, Maj. Eric Gazola.
8th Force Support Squadron - Maj. Jamila Edgerson took command of the 8th FSS from the outgoing commander, Maj. Luis Linares-Ayala.
8th Logistics Readiness Squadron - Maj. Micah Telmo took command of the 8th LRS from the outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Patrick King.
8th Security Forces Squadron - Maj. Bradley Robinson took command of the 8th SFS from the outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Daniel Minnocci.
8th Comptroller Squadron - Maj. Mary J. Fehrs took command of the 8th CPTS from the outgoing commander, Maj. Rosalie Yassine.
With the new commanders stepping into their roles, the 8th FW command team intends to establish purposeful objectives to further the Wolf Pack’s position as a premier warfighting wing.
