Off-base hospital shuttle secured for Wolf Pack Airmen
KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- The 8th Medical Group and Wonkwang University Hospital held a grand opening for a new patient shuttle Sept. 26.
The shuttle will provide transportation to the hospital for Kunsan AB service members who have an approved referral appointment to the hospital. This service is specifically beneficial for service members in the ranks E-1 to E-6 as they are not authorized personal vehicles during their tour in the ROK.
Seo II-Young, Wonkwang University Hospital director, has been working with the 8th MDG for the past 10 years to find a solution that allows effective and accessible transportation for patients from Kunsan AB to the hospital.
The estimated cost the shuttle service saves for service members stationed at Kunsan AB is $80,000 per year, an innovative solution to a complex quality of life issue.
