Staff Sgt. Mitchell McCormik, 80th Fighter Squadron non-commissioned officer in charge of intelligence, was selected as the 8th Fighter Wing’s Pride of the Pack for the week of Sept. 11-15.

McCormick was recognized for his exceptional leadership, intelligence briefings to 8th FW leadership as well as his ability to monitor a diverse array of intelligence streams during a critical manning gap in the 8th Operations Support Squadron.

“There have been a lot of things happening in this squadron with the runway repair and Operation Pack Up requiring Airmen to conduct operations from Osan Air Base,” said McCormick. “Being put up for this award feels pretty good because it shows that my leadership felt appreciation toward the work that I put in and for the things that I have done while on the Korean Peninsula”

McCormick also deployed this summer with the 80th FS to Red Flag Alaska 23-2 where he served as the primary intelligence planner at a large-scale joint and combined exercise.

“This has been a really fun team to work with, my teammates and leadership here are great,” said McCormick. “We’re all extremely supportive, easy to talk to, and receptive to everything we have going on.”

Congratulations to Staff Sgt. Mitchell McCormick and thank you for your dedication to the Airmen and mission of the Wolf Pack!
