Wolf Pack holds Maintenance Professional of the Year banquet

Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea --  Members from the 8th Fighter Wing gathered in Hangar 3 here March 10, 2017 to recognize airmen from multiple maintenance career fields for their outstanding achievements in the Maintenance Professional of the Year banquet at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea.

Maj. Gen. James Slife, Deputy Chief of Staff for the UN Command and U.S. Forces Korea presided over the event. Slife also held a leadership professional development event for all officers at the Loring club here.

“This place is legendary,” said Slife. “Your pure mission focus and tight-knit community is unique and well known throughout the Air Force.”

Col. James “Phoenix” Long, 8th Maintenance Group commander, hosted this year’s event.

“I am in awe every day by the Wolf Pack maintainers,” said Long. “They perform their duties under harsh conditions while generating sorties at a high rate, and yet they continue to raise the bar each year. That only happens through great teamwork, immense unit pride, and a dedication to the mission uniquely seen here at Kunsan.”
