“Wolf” wishes the Wolf Pack a Happy 4th of July

KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Wolf Pack, when we think of "the Fourth of July," fireworks, parades, barbecues and baseball games may come to mind. Typically, we're able to share these events with our family members. Instead, most of us will be celebrating our nation's independence together here at Kunsan.

Although, it may be difficult for some of you to be away from your friends and family during this special day, I want you all to know that your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.
More than 200 years ago, our ancestors paved the way for us to be a part of a democracy, when they adopted the Declaration of Independence. Today, the principles of democracy still stand strong because we have individuals like you who defend it everyday.

Each one of you has answered our nation's call to be a part of something greater than yourselves. With the ongoing conflicts around the world, our nation stays secure because of the selfless men and women who wear the uniform.

I'd like to thank each and every one of you for your service to our nation. Our mission in the Wolf Pack is clear: "Defend the Base, Accept Follow-on Forces, and Take the Fight North." We have an awesome responsibility to deter and defend against North Korean aggression. Regardless of our rank or AFSC, we all play a vital role in fulfilling this responsibility.

We work hard executing the Wolf Pack mission, but this week we can enjoy some downtime and take advantage of all the events planned to commemorate the "Fourth." Although we're away from our loved ones, I consider each one of you part of the Wolf Pack family.

I want you to have fun on the "Fourth" and during our three day weekend, but it is imperative that we have our "wingman" with us. Your family back home and your Wolf Pack family care about your safety. Thanks for all you do in support of the Wolf Pack mission and I look forward to seeing you around the base during our "Fourth of July" activities.
