Kunsan Airmen break barriers by repairing them
U.S. Air Force Senior Airmen Daniel Tomasek, 8th Civil Engineer Squadron electrical power production journeyman, uses a hammer to pierce holes in the nylon tape used for the aircraft arresting system at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Sept. 9, 2017. The holes allow for the attachment of a connector that hooks to a steel cable strung across the flight line. The system, which is designed to bring out-of-control aircraft to a safe stop, can withstand a tension of approximately 170 pounds per square inch. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Victoria H.
