Chief Master Sergeant Charles C. Orf is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 8th Fighter Wing, Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea. Better known as “Wolf Chief,” he represents the 2,700 Airmen and Soldiers of the Wolf Pack. He serves as the principal advisor to the commander on all enlisted issues, including those that affect the health, morale, welfare, training, professional development, readiness, quality of life, and effective utilization of assigned personnel. In addition, Chief Orf coordinates and collaborates with Air Force and Army enlisted leaders on operational and quality of life issues, working to build a single, cohesive Wolf Pack family.
Chief Orf enlisted in the Air Force on 12 January 1994, and upon graduation as an Honor Graduate from Basic Military Training, he remained at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB), Texas, for Law Enforcement Specialist technical training. His first duty assignment was with the 650th Security Police Squadron, Edwards AFB, California. He has held duty positions throughout the spectrum of the Security Forces career field, to include: Installation Entry Controller, Installation Patrolman/Security Response Team Leader, Desk Sergeant, Operations NCO, Stan-Eval NCO, Flight Sergeant, Physical Security NCO, Installation Security NCOIC, Training NCOIC, Superintendent of Logistics and Resources, Superintendent of Operations and Training, and Security Forces Manager. He has also held positions at the Wing and MAJCOM level. His tours of duty include Edwards AFB, California, Araxos AB, Greece, Ramstein AB, Germany, Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, and Travis AFB before being assigned to Kunsan AB. His contingency deployments have taken him to Cuba, Italy, Spain, Diego Garcia, and Iraq.
