8/21/2012 - KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Kunsan's most up-to-date resource for dining, entertainment, fitness, leisure and travel is now mobile.

The HowlerOnline app is available on Android phones through the Google Play store. Servicemembers and civilians on Kunsan Air Base can now have instant access to travel dates, trip prices, and even the times of their favorite spin class right on their phone.

"The HowlerOnline app was created to make information easily available to our Airmen," said Sara Harr, 8th Force Support Squadron marketing director. "We hope to have it available on the Apple Apps Market soon."

In addition to working on bringing the app to Apple users, 8th FSS hopes to make it more interactive and give servicemembers the opportunity to post comments, providing instant customer feedback.

Once installed on a device, the app features 16 categories ranging from Outdoor Recreation activities to the menu at Peppers restaurant on Kunsan.

When a user finds an activity or event they want to notify their friends about, they can "share" it on their Facebook or Twitter page and other social media sites.

Receiving a 4.2 star review rating on the Google Play store page, reviewers also called the app a "good move" on part of the Wolf Pack.

"I've already used it to check the times for Wolf Pack Wheels and a few fitness classes," said Spc. LaRayne Hurd, American Forces Network.

"My favorite part is definitely how fast it updates each month with all the tours from the CAC and Outdoor Rec," she added.

"The HowlerOnline app has one main advantage: keeping the Wolf Pack informed on the go," said Harr.

"An advantage to having this app is the immediate update as soon as we enter information into the software. Example: someone eating at Wolf Pack Café in the Falcon Community Activities Center can use their 3G data plan or the WiFi service at the CAC to use the app to see what is going on at the Loring Club that evening. It's all about instant information and updates," she added.

The app also provides an RSS feed to the News & Events section from www.HowlerOnline.com, so if a last minute change occurs it's fed directly into the HowlerOnline app.

For those interested, search HowlerOnline in the Google Play store, installation is free.
