Gunsan Saemangeum Airshow 2009

All are invited to the Gunsan Saemangeum Airshow 2009 Oct. 31 through Nov. 1, with doors opening Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Throughout the two-day event, a wide variety of Korean and American high-performance aerial demonstrations, unique ground performances and military equipment static displays will entertain the public. 

Visitors can also enjoy a children's play area and a wide variety of food and souvenir booths.

All Korean visitors must have their ROK ID card 

Any non-military American or other allied country visitors must have
their passports 

Strollers for young children will be permitted 

All bags and personnel entering the installation are subject to search 

Prohibited items

- No backpacks
- No ice chests or other large items 
- Persons carrying handguns, knives, explosive or flammable materials will
not be admitted even though they may have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

F-16 "Fighting Falcon"
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack. 



A-10 "Thunderbolt II"
A-10/OA-10 Thunderbolt IIs have excellent maneuverability at low air speeds and altitude, and are highly accurate weapons-delivery platforms. 



KC-135 "Stratotanker"
The KC-135 Stratotanker provides the core aerial refueling capability for the United States Air Force and has excelled in this role for more than 50 years. It also provides aerial refueling support to Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps and allied nation aircraft


AH-64 "Apache Longbow"
Conducts rear, close, and shaping missions including deep precision strike. Conducts distributed operations, precision strikes against relocatable targets, and provides armed reconnaissance when required in day, night, obscured battlefield and adverse weather conditions. 



HH-60 "Pave Hawk"
The primary mission of the HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter is to conduct day or night combat search and rescue, or CSAR, operations into hostile environments to recover downed aircrew or other isolated personnel during war.

F-15C "Eagle"
The F-15 Eagle is an all-weather, extremely maneuverable, tactical fighter designed to permit the Air Force to gain and maintain air supremacy over the battlefield.




KT-1 "Ungbi"
A Korean basic training aircraft for pilots. It was jointly developed by KAI and the ADD in a project that began in 1988. The plane was the first in its class to be designed entirely by a computer, and is South Korea's first indigenous aircraft developed using exclusive domestic technologies 


T-50 "Golden Eagle"
The T-50 delivers a total advanced training system that will bridge the gap between basic flight training and high-performance fighters. It is the trainer aircraft that will introduce a new generation of pilots to the power of modern, advanced fighters. 


C-130 "Hercules"
The C-130 Hercules primarily performs the tactical portion of the airlift mission. The aircraft is capable of operating from rough, dirt strips and is the prime transport for air dropping troops and equipment into hostile areas.



F-4 "Phantom"
The F-4 Phantom II is a twin engine, all weather, tactical fighter-bomber. It originally performed three tactical air roles: air superiority, interdiction and close-air support. The F-4 continues to serve in retirement as the QF-4 Aerial Target, an unmanned, high performance aerial target used for live air-to-air and surface-to-air missile tests


F-5 "Freedom Fighter"
The F-5 is a supersonic fighter combining low cost, ease of maintenance and great versatility. More than 2,000 F-5 aircraft have been procured by the USAF for use by allied nations
