Letter from his commander:
I would like to recommend Tech. Sgt. Stephen Lambert from 8th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron for the Pride of the Pack Award.

Sergeant Lambert has made a positive impact throughout the wing and community from the day he arrived here August 2006.

As the 8th AMXS, 35 Aircraft Maintenance Unit equipment account custodian, he managed an F-16 equipment account with more than 480 items valued at more than seven million dollars. His hard work and dedication was evident during the December 2006 Logistics Standardization Evaluation Team inspection when the LSET team chief noted the equipment account was "extremely well maintained."

His support equipment account is one of the best in PACAF, with more than $300 thousand worth of equipment loaned to associate units command-wide to support various deployment commitments and equipment shortfalls.

Sergeant Lambert coordinated with the base Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory to ensure vital test equipment was calibrated on time, with zero overdue items, ensuring the Wolfpack could "Take the Fight North" at any time.

As the subject matter expert, Sergeant Lambert saved more than $10 thousand in replacement costs by locally repairing three F-16 anti-personnel engine run screens. He also coordinated with item managers to ensure the timely repair of a Stores Management Test set worth $367 thousand, reducing the normal turn around time from six months to five weeks. Sergeant Lambert also installed new software on the electronic warfare testers, ensuring Wolf Pack aircraft survival in hostile EW environments. His attitude and pursuit of perfection had a direct result on the 8th Fighter Wing receiving an "Excellent" during the 2007 PACAF Operational Readiness Inspection.

Additionally, Sergeant Lambert devotes his off-duty time assisting fellow Wolf Pack members by participating in A-CUBED as a walker and as a squadron lounge monitor during the weekends, improving the safety of assigned Airmen. He also seeks self-improvement opportunities by maintaining a 3.5 GPA in the six semester hours he has obtained through the base education office toward his Community College of the Air Force degree.

Sergeant Lambert is the epitome of the professional NCO and showcases the "best of the best" in the Wolf Pack. He is my number one choice to receive this recognition and worthy of consideration for the Pride of the Pack Award.
