The Wolf Pack "Water Cooler" has been reinstated recently to provide Airmen another avenue to voice their concerns.

The program is an informal tool on the base intranet, which gives Airmen the means to get their problems solved quickly and efficiently.

The Wolf Pack "Water Cooler" is intended to share ideas, information and have discussions with anyone across the base using a blogging style format.

"The program gives leadership the opportunity to put a pulse on where people are coming from," said Chief Master Sgt. Anthony "Wolf Chief" Brinkley, 8th Fighter Wing command chief. "It's a good means for us to see what issues are relative to Airmen here."

Wolf Pack members can also sign up for electronic "alerts," which inform people that someone has replied to their posting.

Base officials said the aim for the program is crosstalk, more than creating new discussions. The program also gives Airmen a way to check out other individual's concerns.

"You can never have enough information as to how your people feel about things," Chief Brinkley said. "This gives us a way to see what's on their minds as well as what we in turn need to do to provide them the right communication points."

Colonel CQ "Wolf" Brown, 8 FW commander, said he believes the program is a good way to provide him feedback.

"The 'Water Cooler' is an informal and simple way for members of the Wolf Pack to voice their concerns," he said. "I and the rest of the Wolf Pack leadership value feedback from our Airmen. The "Water Cooler" is another avenue to know what's going on and to address the issues of concern to the Wolf Pack."

Although the "Water Cooler" is an informal tool and discussions may be unofficial in nature, Airmen need to remember to be respectful to others and their opinions at all times.

"I want members of the Wolf Pack here to know we care and value them," Chief Brinkley said. "We take what they say seriously."
